Smart Canucks' blog/owner had the best prank this year....Boo ran a photo of the CN Tower with this article chronicling the sale of this Canadian icon to Walmart:
"Walmart announced today that they will buy the CN Tower from the current owner, Canada Lands Company. Once deal is complete Walmart will rename the CN Tower to Walmart Canada Tower (WC Tower). This comes as Canada Lands Company faces major financial problems due to the economic recession. Walmart which is the world’s largest public corporation by revenue, according to the 2008 Fortune Global 500, has offered to rescue one of Canada’s most famous Landmarks. In return Walmart expects to gain more publicity by making its name synonymous with one of the tallest structures in the world and Canada’s prominent landmark."
Most realized it was a joke, envisioning a big Walmart Happy face on the Tower while the few who thought it real were momentarily outraged and ready to do Wally battle.
